Funny............

A mother and her son were flying Southwest Airlines from Kansas City to Chicago. The son (who had been looking out the window) turned to his mother and asked, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?

"The mother (who couldn't think of an answer) told her son to ask the stewardess. So the boy asked the stewardess, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?"

The stewardess responded, "Did your mother tell you to ask me?"The boy admitted that this was the case.

"Well, then, tell your mother that there are no baby planes because Southwest always pulls out on time. Your mother can explain that to you."

House Hunting (Update) 8/1/09

Things are looking good. The inspection and appraisal both should be completed by the end of next week, then it goes to the underwriter. It is possible that we my be able to move the closing date up a bit.

Yesterday I ended up getting off work a couple of hours early and had a 2 1/2 hours to kill before my appointment with my mortgage broker, so I went to T-Mobile because my cell phone keeps shutting it's self off. As soon as I told them the problem they said that the manufacturer will replace the phone, should be here possibly as soon as Monday. Since that didn't take anywhere as long as I thought it would I still had lots of time to kill so I went to Home Depot to start looking at cabinets for the the kitchen, paint colors for the inside and out, a new front door.
I went to the door area and the girl working there asked if I needed help, so I told her the situation and she said that I had about 5000 choices(that's not helping much), after going over a couple of detail we eliminated about 3000(well, that's a good start). While she went to take a phone call I continued to look around. I found the perfect front door but it is $350 (ouch). When she came back she said the door I chose was one of the few that is not on the web site and seems to be becoming quite popular lately.

Now for the kitchen. Antiqued Ivory base and wall cabinets with granite tile (12x12) counter tops, glass mosaic tile back splash with black appliances. The island will be at least twice the size it currently is in black with a granite slab or butcher block top.

Another good thing about this move is that it will give me the opportunity to sort through everything and get rid of the things I no longer need or want. So the next question is do I have a garage sale before I move or after?

With the move coming up I probably won't have a lot of time to post much, so you may not see much new until a week or two into the new house.

House Hunting (Update)

As you know a few months ago I was trying to buy a new manufactured home and a lot to put it on. Well, that has totally fallen through. So anyway, the other day I saw a listing for an 1182 sq ft 3 bed 2 bath dbl gar in my price range, so I set up a meeting with my Realtor to see the house. We get there and it is not 1182 sq ft, its 1782 sq ft, not 3 bed 2 bath, its 4bed 2bath, island snack bar in the kitchen, formal dining, formal living and a family room, and best part is that the shop is a little bigger than the garage I currently have, only the wash/dry, furnace and water heater are all in the house so they will not be taking up my valuable shop space.

Last Saturday I put in an offer that was several thousand less than the asking price, today they made a counter offer of a few thousand less than the asking price. I have accepted there offer. It is a bit of a sows ear at the moment but with some time and elbow grease I will easily turn it into a silk purse. Having built them for 4 years and then engineered them for another 4 years I should have no problems making the changes that I want to make. Right now closing is scheduled for the end of Aug but I am hoping that we can move it up by at least a week.

Master bedroom, guest room, den, anyone got any interesting ideas for the 4th bedroom? So far my ideas are a dungeon or a den for TBC.

I should be able to post some pics later next week.

This means that I am deeper in debt now than at any other time in my life..............shit!!!!
