The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.....

The Good...

4-1-10 Went to Marion's Carpets and bought 1032 sq ft of new carpet.

The Bad...

On my way home from Marion's I stopped at Home Depot to get more Kilz to seal the floors again before the carpet goes down. I was in the store for about 15 minutes when I heard "will the owner of a silver chevy license number 123-ABC please return to your vehicle"...

The Ugly...

When I get out to my truck I found that my front bumper and cowl had been hit...

The Good...

The guy that hit my truck was the one that had me paged. After getting his info he left and I went back to finish my shopping. Leif's Auto shop was only two blocks away so I went there, in less than an hour they had helped me file a claim and get me into a rental and on the road.

More good...

Because the carpet for the master bedroom needs to be ordered and the rest is in stock so the installer will come out twice.

More bad...

The installer will pick up one 900+ sq ft roll of carpet and doesn't have any where to take that big of a roll to cit into more manageable pieces so I needed to clean the garage...

More good...

The garage is cleaned up enough that I now can fit my truck in the garage'

More ugly...

My computer is having a major bitch fest, at this point I have discovered that as long as I don't touch the key board I can do what ever I want. As a result I am using my laptop to do this posting.

Needless to say that postings will be few and far between for a while....

I'm Back.....

Spent the last 5 days in NE for my Mom's surprise birthday party. It was a total success, she and absolutely no idea. As much as I enjoyed spending time with Mom it is good to be back home.

I have some errands to run this morning so I will try to get some posting done later today.

It's been a long day......

Well it is after 8:30 so tonight's posting will be a short one again. Was at work at 6 this morning and and had to train 3 new people, then went to the tax guy and got my returns signed and sent in. I will be just enough to pay off everything except the truck and the house with enough left over to re roof the house. Then went to the Dr. What a relief, was afraid that it could be cancer based on the research I did, but the Doc said that it was most likely a dietary issue so I will be adding more fiber to my diet. Get home at about 6 to find that the tree is finally down (see next post). So I'm gonna have a light dinner, shower and go to bed.

It's Gone.....

The big shade tree on the right side of the pic is now gone, it was a Curly Willow, this is not a good tree to have so close to anything important. They tend to not handle high winds very well and this one not only threatened my house but two of my neighbors houses as well. When checking the cuts we discovered that one of the biggest limbs has some cracks in it so it was a good thing it came down as that branch would have landed right on my neighbors house and it was built in the early 60's so it would have been a total loss.

it has been so long since I have done any posting. Between working over time and working on the house it just seems like I'm always up to something.


Tonight's postings are a bit small because I need to finish getting the info ready for my meeting with my new tax guy right after work tomorrow.

At work they have decided to make a new position as the Team Lead over my department, currently the chain of command is the Plant Manager, Production Team Lead, Cell Lead, then me. I have applied for the position and if I get it I will be directly under the Plant Manager, and it will probably mean putting in even more overtime for the next few weeks so postings here may be done less often. Wish me Luck!!!!

This Old Bear Has Been At It Again.....

The new shudders make the back of my house look like it could be the front. Guess I'm gonna have to get the sign on the front corner of the house that points to the front door as I have had several people come to the back door thinking it is the front.

Someone has to much time on their hands or.....

I Just Wanna.................

I've been a very busy busy Bear.....

Not only did I get the street end of the house painted, finally, I also painted all of the skirting that can be seen from the street.....

I was afraid that painting the skirting the same dark color as the siding would make the house look like a monolith the way it sits so high up off the street but it looks great to me.....
