Lasik Update #1

Wow. I can see things at a distance that I never could before with my glasses. It is recommended that you sleep for at least 3 hours after the procedure. We got back to TBC's (since he lives much closer) at just after 4 so I laid down to sleep with Belle curled up next to me and soon started to drift in and out, shortly after Tana (TBC's cat) came in and curled up on my chest and proceeded to purr while I continued to drift. The reason they recommend that you sleep is because the earliest stage of the healing process is stinging or sand in the eyes feeling for about 3 hours. At about 5:30 I woke up with some very minor stinging in the left eye and it feels like I have a couple of grains of sand in my right eye, so I took another Vicadin, then laid back down but couldn't get back to sleep so I got up at about 6. It is now almost 7 and the stinging is all but gone and the sand feels like it is getting a bit smaller. Things are still a bit blury and I will see halos around lights at night for a few days to a few weeks, but I should be clear enough to be able to drive by tomorrow afternoon. A friend that had it done a while back said that his insurance wouldn't cover it but they did cover some of the cost after the fact so I checked with Kaiser, but they will not do that either. Still it is already so worth the 4K.
