Yes, I'm still alive and kicking.....

TBC suggested that I post something to let you all know that I am still here. I have been working on the outside of the house getting it ready for winter while the dry weather lasts. Just a couple more hours of trim and touch up and the west and south sides will have a nice fresh coat of paint, if I didn't paint these two sides I could count on having some serious siding issues by the time spring comes around. Tomorrow is the last day of try weather until sometime after next Sunday, so after the I finish the two sides I will start painting on the inside. Will probably take until the end of the week as I am painting with white ceilings, and four different wall colors with no two connected walls the same color.

Wish me luck....

Thanks Guys

The Move.....

One more day to steam clean the carpets and mop the hardwood floors at the old house and the move is done.

Laundry

It is so nice having a utility room instead of going out to the garage to do laundry.

Yeah Haw.......

I'm almost finished with the move, finally got the keys about 5pm on Thursday. Internet was installed late yesterday. Will try and do a regular posting in the next few days but with the work needed here so that I can get all my living and dinning furniture out of the garage I'm gonna be kinda busy.

I Can't Win for Loosing...

I signed the closing papers on the 16th, expecting it to record on the 18th. The house is owned by BofA on a VA backed loan that was foreclosed on. The VA has decided that I should not have to pay for the appraisal or the credit report fee, this is normal for a VA buyer, I am not a VA buyer, but, the good news is that I should be getting a check for some where over $800. The $800 is not really going to make a difference since this whole process has thrown my schedule all to hell. I should be moving in on the 23rd, but I still have several days of work to do on the house before I can move in. Tomorrow I get to set here at my computer waiting for an addendum to come in for me to sign moving the closing to the 25th, it could still close on the 23rd if I get the addenda early enough in the day(yah right). So if we do actually close on the 25th I will have 5 days to do 3 to 4 days worth of work on the new house, move and clean the old house.

Take my advise. If you are buying a house on a VA loan, it may take a little longer but the VA is on your side. If you are not buying on a VA loan and you hear anyone mention VA, RUN and never look back......

First load....

House Hunting (Update) 9-18-09

Well, I finally signed the papers on the 16th, and should get the keys today. Was expecting to need to take a check for $2800 to the signing but needed $3200, good thing I always listened to Grampie and was not caught of guard by the increase.

Who is Grampie? He was my maternal grandfather, a quiet man, you learned at a early age that when he said something it was in your best interest to listen.

What else did I learn from Grampie?

Always buy the highest quality tools that you can afford.

The better care you take of your tools, the better care they will take of you.

When Grammie talks you can tune her out after the first 45 seconds because everything after that would only be a repeat..... Lol..... (they were married for almost 65 years)
