View from the street.... Update.

As you can see the front of the garage and the retaining wall have been painted and some flowers planted. Mostly African Daisies that just went hog wild later in the summer. When I painted the wall I painted over the house numbers so I decided to get a little creative and put the entire street address on the end of the house, must be OK with the HOA cause no one has had anything bad to say about it.
As for the Blazer that was in a previous post. My roommate moved out in April and took it with him and sold it shortly after.

Projects Up Dates....Front Entry

Old door, old light, old deck....

New door, new deck.... TBC decided that it was just do dark in the living room as do to the placement of the garage there is no window and no window in the door, so he gave me $800 for a door that I had been eyeing for several months. After giving it some thought I decided that I needed a door with a bigger window so I got this one that I like better and also got a full panel storm door (not shown) for the front and a more utility type storm door for the back door in the kitchen.

I am so pleased with how the tile entry rug came out. Used only the leftovers for the tile inside the front door.

It's Gone.....

The big shade tree on the right side of the pic is now gone, it was a Curly Willow, this is not a good tree to have so close to anything important. They tend to not handle high winds very well and this one not only threatened my house but two of my neighbors houses as well. When checking the cuts we discovered that one of the biggest limbs has some cracks in it so it was a good thing it came down as that branch would have landed right on my neighbors house and it was built in the early 60's so it would have been a total loss.

This Old Bear Has Been At It Again.....

The new shudders make the back of my house look like it could be the front. Guess I'm gonna have to get the sign on the front corner of the house that points to the front door as I have had several people come to the back door thinking it is the front.

Someone has to much time on their hands or.....

My landscape rocks are having babies, or would pebbles be more accurate?

I've been a very busy busy Bear.....

Not only did I get the street end of the house painted, finally, I also painted all of the skirting that can be seen from the street.....

I was afraid that painting the skirting the same dark color as the siding would make the house look like a monolith the way it sits so high up off the street but it looks great to me.....

What should my next out side project be?????

The front of the garage?
The retaining wall?

Or my roommates Blazer?..... LOL

TBC Stikes Again.....

The other day I took the pellet stove out to the garage to use out there, with the intention of installing a door in its place that will give direct access to the backyard...

Leaving the space open until payday so I can order the new door...

Well, TBC didn't like the look of the empty area, so the next day when I got home from work it looked like this...... so much better....

Project Update..... Range Hood

After getting the new black fridge when I bought the house, then later I replaced the stove with a new black one and then painted the front panel on the dishwasher leaving the range hood standing out like a sore thumb....

So I took the hood down with the intention of painting it to match the other appliances, but once getting it down it was so greasy on the inside that I decided to buy a new one instead, that was until I found out the the least expensive one I could find was well over $100. Need less to say I decided to give a go at cleaning it, Easy Off "Bam" cleaner didn't do a thing nor did Goof Off. Dish soap and hot water did OK but was still taking way to much elbow grease (no pun intended) to get any results, so I went on a search of the house for something that would work better. Brillo Pads did the job so well that it almost looked brand new, after spraying it with epoxy appliance paint it looks great.....

Project Update..... Pantry Door

When I bought the house the door to the pantry was missing...

So I took an old white sheet and threw together a curtain....

Then I added a bi-fold door and trimmed it out like the rest of the doors...

Last but not least was the addition of a magnetic chalk board....

He Spoils Me So.....

I get home from work just after 4 and TBC gets here a few minutes later. He comes in with this sweet grin on his face, I thought it was because he was glad to see me. He gives me a couple of sweet kisses and a wonderful hug. Next he turns for the door so I figured he was going back out to get the dogs out of the truck, but he reaches back and takes me by the hand and leads me outside, I look over his shoulder and see some loose cardboard sticking up out of the back of his truck, but then I get a closer look.....

5 flame settings and can run with or without heat(4600 btu's)

Project Update.....Interior Doors

This is what the interior doors and trim looks like throughout the house, I don't like it at all.

This is the new trim on the Dinning Room side of the Master Bedroom door...

same door with new details...

after 3 coats of paint. I am loving it so much that I will do at least the outside of all the doors in this style, but may do something different in each room depending on the decor...

Another Project.....

I was bored the other night so I started figuring out the layout for the tile outside the front door, the area is 18"x45", I have just enough leftovers from the entry floor that I can do this without buying any more tile. The first two pics are the same pattern and the one that I am liking the most followed by the third and fourth pics. I will have to wait until I change out the front door or I will have to tear out my tile work to do the door.

Project Update.....New Stove

After putting in the new stove the dish washer just looked awful so I took the white face panel of and painted it gloss black and reinstalled it..... WOW what a difference
